Update

I haven't given an update since my doctor's appointment on Monday so I though I should do that. The news wasn't great...or at least I guess it depends on how you look at it. My blood pressure had gone up a bit more to 132/92 since my visit on Friday. So my doctor has put me on strict bed rest. I am to get up only to go to the bathroom, shower and to get some food. Other than that, I am supposed to be on the couch, recliner or in bed. While at the doctor, she hooked me up to the baby monitors to make sure he isn't in any type of stress. She said that everything looked good. I even had a few small contractions while I was hooked up...but they weren't very intense because I didn't even feel them. I was also dilated to a 1 and 50% "thinned out" so that was exciting to hear. I talked to her about delivery day because my mom is worried that they are going to be here this weekend for the shower and then have to turn right around and come back for delivery. So, we were looking at the calendar and she has penciled in June 21st as delivery day. She said that she does not like to induce before 38 weeks. The 21st will put me at 38 weeks and 3 days. She said that the only way we will deliver sooner is if my blood pressure sky rockets. So, if all goes well, we will be having Kendall on the 21st...which is just a week and 4 days from today!!

So, day one on bed rest was not fun!! My body has decided to get a cold so I've been stopped up like crazy the past two days. Yesterday I mostly just watched TV and caught up on shows I had on the DVR. I watched TV for a little while today and then started reading the new Marry Higgins Clark book that came out a couple of months ago...Dawn went and bought it for me yesterday. However, this afternoon my new laptop was delivered so now I have a little more that I can do while I'm laid up other than watching TV and reading. I will say that I think I should definatley be well rested by the time Kendall gets here. But I'm going to try to enjoy it because life won't be this slow again for probably 20 years!!

As for my baby shower, my doctor has cleared me to go to that and to 1 hour of church. She said those are to be my ONLY outings/activities. Since my shower will probably be a 2-3 hour ordeal, I don't think I'm going to go to church tonight or Sunday morning. I may go on Sunday night though. But I can't wait for my baby shower. I think when that's over I'm going to feel more comfortable about having Kendall...that's the one last thing on my list before he's born. I've spent the past couple of days getting all my paper work together and called in for FMLA and short term disability so I'm glad all of that has been taken care of now.

That's really all I have for now. Sorry...no pictures today. As I said, I just got in my new computer today so I haven't been able to transfer all my pictures and everything from my old computer to this one. I am going to try to get that done in the next couple of days. Mom and dad will be here tomorrow evening for the weekend so I can't wait to see them!! If I don't post anything before my shower, I will definately have a post afterwards with lots of pictures!!
