Well, in about an hour Kendall will be 5 days old. I must say he is the most adorable baby I have ever seen in my life. Sure...I may be a little partial since he is my own...but he really is beautiful!! An update on his weight...we took him for a weight check on Friday and he had packed on some ounces and is up to 8 lbs 5 oz now. It's amazing what will happen when your milk comes in!! He's been eating better and better every day. We're starting to get somewhat on a schedule, which is nice. We still cannot get him to sleep in his bassinet though which is a little frustrating. He sleeps pretty well in his pack-n-play during the day in the living room so we decided to move the pack-n-play into our room last night to see if he would sleep in it. He stayed in it for several minutes but then he got the hiccups (for like the 5th time that day) and got really mad so I put him in bed with me. Last night was TJ's first night back to work but it did go pretty well. Once I put him in bed with me, we both slept the whole night except when we got up to nurse. I still feel like I'm about 6 days behind on sleep...but I'm sure that's just something I'll have to get used to for the next 20 years!!
Mom and Dad left this afternoon to go to Abilene for a wedding and then back to Del Rio. It was an emotional goodbye. I just started crying and couldn't stop. My dad said "You will be fine." And I know that...it's not really what I was crying about I don't think. It was just emotional to know that we finally have this perfect little baby that we've all been praying for for so long. It was hard to see mom and dad leave because they live so far away and won't get to see Kendall on a day to day basis...or even a week to week basis, except for the tons of pictures we will be sending them. I know they are where they are supposed to be in Del Rio, but it would be so great to have them close to us to watch Kendall as he grows.
