We took Kendall to his doctor yesterday and they said his weight was down to 8lbs. However, my milk just now finally came in today so he should start packing on the pounds now. We are taking him back on Friday for a weight check so I'm hoping he has either not lost any more or has gained an ounce or two back. The first couple of nights with Kendall have been interesting. The first night, he acted like he was hungry every 15 minutes or so. So, after trying to feed him pretty much constantly until about 3 in the morning, I decided something was going to have to change. I woke up my mom to talk to her to see what she thought and we decided that he's just a "sucker". So, reluctantly I gave him a pacifier. That did the trick! So, the first night I think I got a total of maybe one hour of sleep. Not fun!! Last night was much better though. He ate pretty regularly...every two to three hours and then slept pretty well in between feedings. So, I would feed him and then TJ would rock him so that we could take turns sleeping. The only problem now is that he won't sleep in his bassinet. As long as one of us was holding him, he would snooze soundly. So now that we've kind of got an eating/sleeping pattern going our next goal is to get him to sleep in the bassinet. So today every time after I feed him, I put him in his pack-n-play and let him sleep. He's done really well so far today...so we'll see how good he does tonight. TJ goes back to work tomorrow night so I'm hoping we can get him used to his bassinet before then!! I don't know how I'm going to do nights by myself!!!

Jackie!! What a cutie! I'm sure you are just in love! Don't worry about the pacifier, he'll have no problems nursing. Some kids just like pacifiers and some don't. To get him to sleep in his bed try swaddling him (maybe in the tshirt you wore all day..he'll love your scent) and tucking him between the edge of the bed and a pillow so he feels cuddled. Good luck, you'll do great. I know you've got a lot of support.
